I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I know we did. We spend Thursday with Nick's family and Friday with mine and some friends we haven't seen in quite awhile. It was a nice relaxing holiday with no major drama...lol. It always seems there is some when you get a bunch of family members together...lol

Today it is time for another challenge over at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle. This week we are gearing up for Christmas so that is what we want to see. A Christmas card, layout or altered item!

I made a few of these gift card ornaments last year I believe with directions from an online crop I was participating in at the time. Sorry but I don't remember which one!

They are super simple. In the past I made them with just pattern paper but this time I used a chipboard base (from kits2remember) for the ornaments. The red one has a little pocket on the back right below the ornament top to hold a gift card and the blue one is on the front.
They were pretty simple and fast to make and I think a cute way to present a gift card.

supplies for red one: Making Memories charm and pp, Pebbles Inc ribbon, Hambly rubon, embrodery floss, Prima flowers, gems supplies for blue one: Reminisce pp, ric rac, snowflake die, button, stickles

This one also works for the challenge at Cupcake Crafts (make a gift card holder).

It is also time for a new challenge at Scrap and Stamp. Unfortunately I can't load my layout right now. I loaned my camera to my cousin who was going out of town since hers died. And I forgot to download the picture first...lol. silly me! So I will post it in a few days. I hope you will still head over to Scrap and Stamp to see what the rest of the design team did and to see what the prize is this week. Whats the challenge you ask....well it is fall traditions with at least one stamp. We all have traditions we carry on with so we want to see them large and small!

just for fun!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I know we did. We spent most of the weekend visiting with friends and family. With a little bit of yard work thrown in...lol.
Today I got a couple of hours to play in my scraproom so I decided to play along with some challenges. Since it seems like it has been forever!

>
I really liked this sketch so I just had to use it. I added stickles to the penguins hat and skates plus around the edge of the "ice." I used metallic cs for the ice. I just used the lime green pp to put behind the card since I had to take a pic inside.

this one is for these challenges....
Bee Crafty-sparkle
Lili of the Valley-sketch
Color Create-green, red and white
Carrdvarks-color it
Cupcake Crafts-digi image
Spoonful of Sugar-babys 1st Christmas/preschooler
Magic in the Air-use the image adn metallic cs or mirrors

I made this little ornament from an extra cookie cutter I had. Last year I made a few and they turned out super cute! The cropadile works great for punching a hole in the cookie cutter!

this one is for a few challenges...

One Stop Craft-snowflakes

Saturday Spotlight-ornament

3 Clovers-Christmas with no red or green

Creative Belli-Christmas themed embellies

I changed the sketch up just a bit to make it work for what I wanted!

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you are all having a great start to the weekend. Mine is filled up with things to try and get ready for Thanksgiving. So this will be a quick post today.

Today it is time for a new challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle & at Scrap and Stamp!

This week at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle we want to see a flower pot card! Now I had to go a little differently than the usual...lol. I had been trying to figure out a way to make my flowers be coming out of the pot. Now I have Design Studio but I don't get to play with it as much as I would like. I lucked out while searching for something else and found a version of this card with directions and a cut file at Custom Crops! Our sponsor this week is Dustin Pike so one player will get 3 digi images of their choice!
I made it completely from scraps and I added some raindrops to the centers as well. I did notice when I put the card on the background piece that a few of the spaces didn't cut out. But it wasn't a biggie I just used my craft knife and trimmed them out.
I think I will add a tag with a sentiment when I decide what I will use it for!

this one also works for a few challenges...

ABC-hidden

Creative Card Crew-string it up

This week at Scrap and Stamp we have a fabulous sketch for you to use from our very own Pamela! She does such beautiful sketches.
I stayed very true to the sketch this time because I wanted my focus to be on the photos. These are pics from my mom and dads wedding in '75! I don't have but a handful of shots from that day so they are all precious to me!
Our sponsor this week is Unity Stamps! There is a full Le Chic Boutique stamp set plus more up for grabs to one lucky participant!
I used a stamp from this set on my page and plus some of the papers as well.

supplies: Unity Stamp Co. stamps, Jillibean Soup and Cosmo Cricket pp, American Craft thickers, Making Memories rubon alphas, Prima flowers, Robins Nest dew drops, Recollections pearls, Offray ribbon and ceramic birds, leaves from some silk flowers

I am also using this one for this challenge....

pile it on-5 pearls and 3 flowers (I used 6 pearls and 4 flowers)

I hope you will join us this week at both sites. We know it is a busy week but we all need a little time to play too...lol. Please stop by and check out the rest of the design teams beautiful layouts and flower pot cards!
Have a great weekend!

Making Handmade Cards Peeks

I loved the look of this Christmas Pets ekit from Making Handmade Cards. When I got the invite to design with it I couldn't pass it up!
Be sure to go and sign up for the newsletter if you haven't already. They will be sending out all the info on when you can get it in the near future. Plus when you sign up you get a free ekit!

I love that you can print out everything you need to whip up a quick card or altered project!

I made a treat jar for kitty. He likes to eat the cardboard containers that they come in when you buy them...lol. Which actually makes him a bad kitty...lol.
I added ribbon, paint and stickles from my stash. I traced a precut label die for the front of the jar. I printed the sentiment on the computer.

I love this 3D puppy, he is just so cute! I wanted this one to be simple without alot of extra. Again I traced a precut label die for the label. I also added stickles to the bow and santa hat.

Well I always need extra gift enclosure cards and gift tags around the holidays so I whipped up a few with the scraps I had laying on my table. I printed the sentiments on a 1/4 of a sheet of paper and it made them the perfect size for gift tags. I just trimmed around the edges without getting super fussy about the cutting. I added a little stickles to each!
I posted my ornament using this kit on Monday! Be sure to head over to Making Handmade Cards to see the other fabulous ekits and to find out about the release of the Christmas Pets ekit!

Joy is in the air...

I know it has been awhile since I have had a kits2remember project to share and I am sorry about that. Life has just gotten in the way. But I am here now with a little project.

I wanted a hanging decoration for the doorknob on the front door for Christmas. So I decided to use three 4inch acrylic circles from k2r. I covered them all with some Daisy Bucket papers. The "ribbon" I made by cutting strips of the pattern papers and wetting them so that I could crinkle them up. After they were dry I stretched them out a little bit and adhered to the back of the circles. It gives the look of ruffled ribbon but with the sturdiness of paper. I painted some Deja View alphas white and adhered to the centers, then added some bling snowflakes to each circle. I punched my holes with the crop-a-dile and added ribbon. I used a stickles bottle to insure my loops were the same size, except for the top one I made sure it would fit over a doorknob. Voila it is done!
Normally I don't use pinks at Christmas but I really like how this one turned out. You could easily replace the snowflakes with some other embellie and it would work for a new baby. You could add another circle and change the word. So many possibilities.

supplies: kits2remember acrylic, Daisy Bucket pp, Deja View alphas, MAMBI and Paper Studio bling, Making Memories paint, ribbon

While I was making Christmas decorations I made a little new puppy ornament for a friend of mine. Their little one is getting a new puppy for Christmas this year and she wanted something to give him ahead of time to give a few hints. So here is one thing.
I used an atc size acrylic panel from k2r, pattern paper from the upcoming Christmas Pets ekit from Making Handmade Cards and paint.
I painted the edges of the acrylic with red paint and let it dry. Then I added a piece of pp to the back of the acrylic and a small piece to the front to add some depth. The little puppy is from the ekit and he is layered. I added some stickles and the year and I was done!
I will have other samples from the Christmas Pets ekit from Making Handmade Cards posted on Wed! So be sure to come back to see more of this ekit!
supplies: kits2remember acrylic, Making Handmade Cards ekit, sharpie, stickles, Peebles Inc paint, paint pen, ribbon

Have you all started your Christmas projects yet? What are you making? We would love to hear about them or even see them!

Have a great week!

There are new challenges up at Scrap and Stamp & at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle today. So I hope you will stop by both and see what the design team did! Plus you have until midnight tomorrow (Sun) to apply for the design team at Scrap and Stamp!

This weeks challenge is a sketch at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle. Be sure to stop by the blog to see the actual sketch. I pretty much followed it except for I added the ribbon and didn't put a sentiment on the front. I simply stamped on the inside "I hope you have a ball this Holiday Season!" Our fabulous sponsor this week is Heather at Fresh Brewed Designs. She was so generous in giving the design team some fabo images to use!
this one also works for the Crafty Calendar Challenge (weather)

supplies: DCWV pp, Recollections cs, Fresh Brewed Designs digi image, Ranger stickles, American Greetings ribbon, Making Memories ink, markers

And at Scrap and Stamp this week we would like to see a layout about your spouse or significant other with at least one stamp. Our sponsor this week is Mo's Digital Pencil. Mo was so sweet to whip an all new image for us to use this week. Isn't it the cutest? I see me using it on alot of cards. I am still not sure if I like it on my page or not???
I will add the journaling later once I am sure of just what I want to say. I plan to journal a little bit about how I love to see him and our son together!

supplies: Rose Moka pp, Mo's Digital Pencil digi image, Unity stamp, Maya Road clear journaling tag, Grungeboard, Colorbox chalk ink, Making Memories acrylic frame, brads, markers, colored pencils

I hope you will join us at both Stamp, Scrap and Doodle & Scrap and Stamp this week.

Is this image not the cutest or what?

Tuesday was Patrick's 6th birthday but we didn't have his party until Sat! It is hard to believe my baby is 6 years old! Where does the time go? He is big into TMNT right now so he wanted a ninja turtle cake. I was lucky enough to find one of the old Wilton pans from the 80's. I was not happy with the way it turned out but Patrick loved it and that is all that mattered. Right? I know what the problem was though. I used the whipped icing and it was too hot in the kitchen while I was icing so it got to soft.
Patrick with his cake!

And with all his little friends. The little girl right next to Patrick is his little "girlfriend" Lily. Yeah still the same one from last year! She is such a little doll!

Here is a quick pic of his Halloween costume this year too! He has all the ninja moves down...lol

Thanks for sticking around to see all my pics! I hope you have a fabulous day!

Making Handmade Cards

I was so honored and excited to be asked by Jo to be a Guest Designer for Making Handmade Cards!
I got to work with the upcoming "Happy Flowers" kit back in October! It was a little more challenge than I would have thought to use just the ekit and basic supplies. I didn't realize how often I reach for buttons, pins, dewdrops etc until trying to not use them...lol. Of course once you purchase the ekits you can use what ever goodies you would like with them!

This ekit is chocked full of beautiful images, background papers and greetings. There are so many combinations that you have an endless supply of choices!

I made 5 cards with this kit and I see me reaching for this one again and again!

I made this one really simple and the only thing I used cardstock, twine, popdots and a sharpie from my stash.

I used a sketch from a challenge blog somewhere but I am sorry to say that now I can't remember where. If you know please let me know and I will give credit where credit is due! I added cardstock, stickles, ink and raindrops from my stash. For the seniment I printed out the supplied sents on regular printer paper and then traced over the sentiment with a sharp pencil so that I got a little bit of an indention in the paper and then traced over it with a sharpie.
I hand cut the vase from a sheet of backing paper and simpley cut out the flowers from one of the sheets in the ekit. I used popdots on a few of the flowers for some added depth. I used cardstock, twine and a sharpie from my stash.

I cut out various flowers and used popdots behind some of them and then added stickles to the centers. I used ink, ribbon and stickles from my stash.
I really like the sunny yellow with this card! This one was fast and simple really. The 4 flowers are printed on the backing paper already. I simply printed it out twice and cut out the flowers so that I could pop them up. The sun is actually a flower from another sheet. I added stickles to various elements.

This is just a little sampling of the "happy flowers" ekit from Making Handmade Cards. If you would like to know how you could get one be sure to check HERE! Also sign up for the newsletter and you will get a free ekit!
