Thank you!

Can you beleive that another week has passed? Where does the days go? It is time for another great challenge over at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle! This week we have a sketch by our very own Cheri. Check it out on the blog (I would post it here but blogger is not cooperating with me today). We have a yummy prize for one lucky participant so be sure to play along to be in for a chance!

Here is my take on the sketch. I flipped it to the side and flipped the position of the sentiment as well. I just love this image it is so cute!
supplies: Basic Grey pp, Dustin Pike digi image, My Sentiments Exactly stamps, twine, Prismacolor pencils, Peebles Inc chalk, Ranger distress ink, sharpie

I hope you will take the time to stop by the blog and check out the rest of the design teams wonderful creations. We have an amazing group of girls.

Have a great weekend everyone and I hope you get alot of crafty things done!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday reveal

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you will join us for another Scrap & Stamp Saturday challenge this week. We have a fun challenge this week and a scrumptious prize package from Rusty Pickle!
Do you want to know what you have to do to get in for a chance to win it? Well it is simple...create a layout or whatever you wish about your crafty space and use at least one piece of stamped chipboard...thats it. Simple enough don't you think?

Here is my take on it. I masked part of my title with old stickers and sprayed it with cooper and patina glimmer mist! The picture does it no justice at all! It looks great in person! I also sprayed the chipboard frame and area with the same 2 colors. But for the frame I then stamped it with a kits2remember flourish stamp and embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then added lots of flowers, buttons and gems to finish off the layout.

supplies: Bazzill cs, SEI pp, Rusty Pickle chipboard, Offray ribbon, Prima(white) and Doodlebug(blue) flowers, Heidi Swapp bling, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, October Afternoon rubon on alphas, Ranger distress ink, Colorbox chalk ink, Stampendous embossing powder, sharpie, twine, buttons

a few closeups....to show off the flowers

and glimmer mist areas...

I hope you will join us this week! Be sure to check out the rest of the amazing design team! They are all so talented.

Inspirational Card Sketches #31

Today is the day for another excellent sketch from Dawn over at Inspirational Card Sketches! Don't you just love them? I know I do. Dawn has come up with another great one for us to play with. Check it out!

And here is my take on it. I love this image from The Digi Shack, I don't know why but I always like it left black and white. The sentiment came with the image.

I thought this would make a fun birthday card for my best friend. We always send something funny to each other. I didn't think to take a photo of the inside but I kept it simple and just stamped happy birthday.

supplies: GCD pp, DCWV cs, The Digi Shack digi image, Recollections pearls, Offray lace, Fiskars border punch, buttons and flowers from the dollar store

Okay head over to ICS and see what the rest of the amazing DT did with this sketch. And to see the prize package that our very own Karen put together!

It works for these challenges...

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It was such a beautiful day here yesterday. The temperature was great, a nice breeze and the humidity was not off the charts. Which is saying along since we have been having 100 degree temps with 110+ heat index!
We spent the day at my MIL chatting with friends and riding horses. Nice and relaxing. I will share some pics in just a bit of the boys riding on Jewel. They had a great time eventhough Patrick was getting sick.
Thursday he was sounding congested and coughing, grumpy and not sleeping well. Then last night he started running a fever so we are off to the doctor in just a bit. He is wheezing so badly.
I think our internet may finally be fixed. The tech that came out today actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about and so far so good. I am so excited because it has really been messing with my precious computer time....lol

I wanted to share a card I whipped up this morning while he was still sleeping. I used supplies I had out from a card I will be able to share tomorrow (hint hint).

supplies: GCD pp, MM and Bazzill cs, Pink Paislee chipboard leaves (cut up a stem), Recollections pearls, Fiskars border punch, Offray lace, buttons, flowers from the dollar store,

Wow...3 posts in one day! That is not like me..lol Scroll down to see my Scrap and Stamp and Stamp, Scrap and Doodle posts.

It has been a long day today. We had to go get Patrick some new glasses, plus groceries and a trip to Michael's of course. I bought me some Prismacolor pencils today finally. Until now I have been using my regular old colored pencils. So when I got home I had to play some. I colored in several images but finally decided to use Bill again. I love this stamp. He is soo cute.

I used the sketch from 2Sketches4you. This one just screamed acrylic to me when I saw it. I flipped on its side. I just realized I left the strip off that was to go across the scallop pieces. Oops.
The pattern is on the inside. I mimicked this scallop piece on the inside so there will be an area to right on. The snowflake is sprayed with patina glimmer mist! This is one of my fav colors I think.
I kept it very simple and with no glitter. This is so hard for me..lol. But I am trying to get my stash up to send to CardsforHeros so there can't be any glitter.

supplies: Reminisce pp, Making Memories cs, Maya Road chipboard, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream stamp, Peebles Inc chalk, Prismacolor pencils, sharpie, gem, acrylic,

2 cute 2 spook....

This is my 2nd post of the day. Please scroll
down to see my Stamp, Scrap & Doodle post.
Thank you!
This was a fun little album to make! I got to use up lots of Halloween bits and pieces and my fun Halloween stamps from Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream! I love Halloween...lol

Today it is time for another challenge over at Scrap and Stamp. This week we challenge you to do any holiday except Christmas with at least one stamp.

I wanted to do an album with photos from every year since Patrick's first Halloween. I used an 8x8 acrylic stadium album from kits2remember. I love the stadium albums because you can see a little peek from each page from the front.

I wanted to keep the front pretty basic. I used some fun Lil' Davis letter tiles and thickers for the rest of the title. I added one letter from "spook" to each page in the bottom corner. I inked all my papers with black stazon as well as the edge of the album pages.
Isn't this pumpkin so cute! Well both of them...lol. The little pumpkins, spiders and ghost stamps are all from Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream. The fun flourish corner stamp is from kits2remember. I love this flourish. I stamped the pumpkins on to a transparency and then colored them in with my markers.

The ghosts are stamped on a transparency as well and then painted with Making Memories pearlized paint. I then used a sharpie and traced the stamp on the backside of the image that way it looks the same from both sides.

I love how a little bit peeks over from the previous page. While working with the album I try and add a little bit to each side of the page so it adds some depth to it.
I added a cat sticker to each side layered together. So it appears to be the same cat.

supplies: Doodlebug, Creative Imaginations, Scrapworks, Making Memories, Reminisce pattern papers, Thats Jazzy Stamp Dreams (pumpkin, spider, ghost) and kits2remember (flourish) stamps, American Craft thickers, Lil' Davis chipboard tile alphas, Stazon ink, kits2remember 8x8 acrylic album, Scrapworks stickers, Making Memories paint, transparency, ribbon
I hope you will join us this week at Scrap and Stamp! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Challenge #3

This week has just flown by for me. I can't believe it is Saturday already. You know what that means it is time for another challenge at Stamp, Scrap and Doodle! We have a good one this week. We want to see Monochromatic colors. I chose to use pink. Strange I know since I don't use alot of pink usually.
I decided to do something other than a card this week. I have been seeing these cute cupcakes around in blog land and have been wanting to make one but just haven't taken the time to do so. Until now that is. I have to tell you this was a fun project to make and pretty easy as well.
I was wanting to use a large bead on the top but I couldn't find them in my craft room..I think that is a sign I need to clean up and out in here...lol. Instead I used some layered flowers with a big bling on top. I used a glue dot to attach it to the clip that is holding a gift card. It makes it easy to pull the card out.
I added pink brads randomly around to look like sprinkles and some stickles for some shimmer.

supplies: Upsy Daisy pp, Bazzill cs, Prima flowers, Q&Co brads, stickles, bling, ribbons

I hope you will come by SSDS and show us what you have! While you are there please check out the rest of the DT's work. It is all so beautiful.
I am also using this for the challenges at
Cupcake Crafts-something sweet
Whimsy Stamps-ribbon and ribbon
Truely Scrumptious-anything but a card

I finally got a few minutes to play some tonight after everyone was in bed. It has been such a busy week and Patrick is coming down with a cold...ugh. So not much crafty time. I just love this image from There's Magic in the Air. It is a freebie this week. I used my regular old markers and colored pencils to color the image. Then I added chalk for the grass and sky. I wanted to keep it really simple since it is such a beautiful image. I haven't added a sentiment yet and I may not at all.

supplies: DCWV cs, Black Market Paper Society pp, Theres Magic in the Air digi stamp, markers, colored pencils, corner punches??

This one is for several challenges...
3 Clovers-vehicle
Spoonful of Sugar-travel
Pile it On-boy
Cafe Mojo-blue and brown
The Fresh Batch-sketch
Belli Challenge-use waterbased markers (hopefully I used enough marker)
Secret Crafter Saturday-fancy corners (too late to enter though) and this weeks new challenge is turquoise and brown...mine is a shade of turquoise
Cute Card Thursday-lazy days of summer
Papertake Weekly-take your pick of old challenge. I used #25 delightful download

I am surprised I got so many in on this one...because honestly I didn't plan on but 4 until I started looking at my list.

Beach ball album

This summer Patrick got to spend some time with his dad. He flew down and they spent a weekend at the beach before going to Colorado. So I thought it would be fun for Patrick to have a little album of their fun time together. I was hoping to have the photos already but they haven't arrived yet.

For this album I used five 5 inch circles from kits2remember, paint, white stazon ink, Making Memories papers and ribbon.

I drew the picture I wanted on the outside film and then painted the colors I wanted. After all the paint was dry I painted in the black lines on both sides of the acrylic. I kept the paint on the inside of the cover. I added some rubon's and I was done.
The inside pages are all the same. I cut five 4.5 inch circles and three 4.25 inch circles. This way I can add 4 inch circle photos. I altered the paper circles on either side of the acrylic. This way some of the photos will have a double mat. I added ribbon tags on the 3 inside pages and the o-ring.
Now all I will need to do is add the photos and a few extra embellies if I decide to.
I doodled stitching on each page and added white stazon to the edges of the acrylic.

Now Patrick will have a fun little album of him and his dad. I love playing around with the circles. They make for quick albums and they look great without very many embellies.

I am using this for a few challenges...I hope it works even without photos...lol

Happy crafting everyone. I will see you next time with another fun album!

Inspirational Card Sketches #30

The days seem to be flying by lately. It is Tuesday again and you know what that means. Another beautiful sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches. Our very own Olena made this one. Isn't it great?

This week we got to play with some of the super cute digi images from Paper Popsicles. I love little Elisabeth. I colored her twice and popped one up then used blue chalk around the image. She looks like she is deep in thought about something or maybe just hoping for rain...lol. Guess what else this is one of the images that will be given to one lucky participant.
supplies: Sassafrass pp, Making Memories cs and hybrid ink (blueberry), Paper Popsicles digi image, Studio G alph stamps, Peebles Inc chalk, stazon ink, ribbon, sharpie, markers

I hope you will join us and be sure to head over to ICS and see what the rest of the amazing DT did.

On a more personal note. This morning I dropped Patrick off at the door to school (with lots of protests from him). As I watched him walk up that walk I had this sudden urge to cry. I didn't think it would lead to such emotions. I mean its not like he just started school. He went to k4 last year(all day) but we had to go to his class to pick him up and drop him off. Then last week I walked him to class as well. Yesterday I walked him inside but let him go to class by himself. So it really threw me for a loop getting all emotional about dropping him off outside. Who would think that those 50 yards or what ever would make such a difference. I wanted to just run up, grab hold and not let go. It feels like a whole new era is beginning and I will not be a part of it. But I guess that is true isn't it? It seems my baby boy is growing up so fast. Sometimes I just want to scream STOP!

Patrick is not one that likes to be away. He would rather stay right here with me. This morning he says to me that he wishes they had a tv in his classroom. I tell him they are there to learn not watch tv. He tells me he knows but if he learns he has to go to college. My answer is you need to go to college..blah blah blah (we all know the drill). He starts to get upset about this thought. Then I remember his k4 teachers son just went off to college and she was always talking about it. So I tell him he doesn't have to go away that he can go close to home. Then it was all good. I proceeded to tell him that he might want to go away when the time comes because it is fun. He got mad at me and told me that it isn't nice to want to leave home that you have to stay at home. How sweet is that. I will just have to remember to remind him of that one when the time comes...lol

Thanks for listening to me blubber on and on if you are still here. Now off you go to check the ICS blog!!

Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Challenge #2

This is the 2nd post for today. Please scroll down to see
my Scrap & Stamp Saturday post! Thank you!

Woo Hoo! It is time for our 2nd challenge at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturdays.
I hope you will join in the fun. There is a yummy prize up for grabs for one lucky participant. But you can't win if you don't play!

This weeks challenge is Boy/Male Themed easy enough right. We all have them in our lives. It doesn't have to be a card as long as it is for a guy.

Here is my card. Not my normal style but it was fun to play around with something differently.

I used the fun "Rocket Ride" stamp set made by my friend Sheila at Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream. It is one of my favorite sets. I love all the planets, stars and the alien! I cut the flames off of the rocket and added embrodery floss instead. I stamped my sentiment wonky for some fun.

supplies: Inique Boutique pp, cs??, Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream and Studio G (alpha) stamps, stazon ink, markers, sharpie

I hope you will join us this week. Be sure to check out the rest of our amazing design team. They simply Rock.

Scrap and Stamp Challenge #7

Are you ready for another Scrap and Stamp Challenge? I hope so because it is a good one!
The challenge is a Whimsy with at least one stamp.
Whimsical pages are a bit hard for me so this is my take on it. I love these papers from Piggy Tales all of the silver is shiny and the rubons have glitter. My stamp is kinda hard to pick out since I used so many flourishes but it is a Basic Grey one in the left hand corner. I added the date inside the barndoor.

supplies: Piggy Tales pp, barndoor and rubon; Basic Grey stamp and flourishes; The Paper Element rubon; American Craft thickers; grungeboard; paint dabber; distress ink; buttons; sharpie

I hope you will head over to SSS and check out the rest of the design teams beautiful pages.

Check it out!

I am excited that I got to choose the Use It Challenge this week. Go check it out and I hope you will play along.
Here is my card and gift item I did for it. I made this to give to Patrick's teacher on his first day.
I forgot to take a photo of the inside of the card but it reads "in advance for all you do"
I filled the bottle up with kisses. Because well we all need a little chocolate especially with 17 kindergartners...lol

supplies: Two Busy Moms pp, Bazzill cs, Heidi Swapp, Prima and Making Memories flowers, Autumn Leaves stamp, Cricut Zoobaloo cartridge, Ranger distress ink and stickles, various gems

Thursday was Patrick's first day of school. It is so hard to believe that it is that time of year again. Here is a pic of my snaggletoothed kindergartener! There are many more but I add a few more later.

Inspirational Card Sketches #29

Sorry about the delay in getting my post up. I had it scheduled but for some reason...nothing.

This week at ICS we got to work with a fun sketch from our very own Tricia. I mean just look at this fun sketch!

I wanted to make mine a little bit different so I cut the front half of the card so you can see the inside too.

I stamped my flower image 3 times on the pp and layered them, curling the petals a little more on each layer and added a velvet brad to the center. Leaves are cut with the Cricut (Zoobaloo). I left the border punch hanging off the edge so you can see it from both sides.

supplies: Cosmo Cricket pp, Bazzill cs, Heidi Grace stamp, Heidi Swapp gems, Paperbilities rubons, 7 Gypsies brad, Cricut Zoobaloo cartridge, tulle, distress ink, Fiskars border punch

These are some of my favorite Cosmo Cricket papers. I just LOVE the colors. Head over to ICS and see what the rest of the DT did with this one. And check out the prize this week for one lucky participant!
I am using this for the challenge over at Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream as well. If you haven't checked out my friend Sheila's stamp company you should. She has the cuttest stamps!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday challenge 6

Guess what today is? Time for another Scrap and Stamp Saturday challenge! Woo Hoo! I had fun with this one...lots of distressing and color...definitely my style.

This weeks challenge is a simple one. Some sort of embossing plus stamping. Easy peasy right! I hope you will join in the fun this week. We would love to have you.

I used some of my fav products on this one. I love this flourish stamp from kits2remember and it can work on a boy page too! The journaling stamp is another fav from my friend Sheila at Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream. It is a single line that looks like the kids writing paper. So many possibilities. And I love these Zachs life papers. I embossed all the orange papers (except journaling block) with a Fiskars embossing thing.

supplies: Little Yellow Bicycle pp, Kits2Remember rubber stamp, Thats Jazzy Stamp Dreams acrylic journaling stamp, Tim Holtz ticket, Buttons Gallore buttons, Ranger distress ink and paint dabber, Stazon ink, Scenic Route chipboard, twine

Today is the day! The first challenge is up on our all new challenge blog......I hope you will drop by and see what it is all about and join in the fun. Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's work. They are amazing!

The challenge is a recipe one. 2 ribbons, 2 buttons, 2 pattern papers, 2 layers.

I used the birthday cake digi stamp but cut the candles off and used it as a wedding cake instead and I layered 2 together. I added glossy accents to the white icing. I wish it was showing up in the photo.

Pay it Forward!!

I love the idea of pay it forward. I have seen it on several blogs out there. I finally signed up for one over at Christine's lovely blog. If you haven't seen her blog check it out. She does beautiful work. I am a little behind in getting this posted. Sorry about that. I was thinking I had already done it and then I had to hunt it down.

The first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me, especially for you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make but I hope you will.

2- What I create will be just for you. I’ll be lurking around your blog to see what you might like (and it won’t be a card-hehe)

3-They say I have a year to get it to you. But I promise it will NOT take that long.

4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It’s a surprise to both of us at this point.

The catch? You must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog.

So the first five people who post, and are willing to pass it along, will get a handmade gifty in the mail from me. When you get it, make sure you post a pic on your blog.

Hurry now, you don’t want to miss out!!! Maybe I’ll even want to participate in your giveaway!

Kits 2 Remember mini fridge calendars

I don't know about you all but I have been thinking about Christmas lately. It will be here before we know it. That is where my project for today has come from. Our extended family always draws names for the adults and buys all the kiddos gifts. But I still like to give every family a little something they can use, that I can make without a great expense.

I decided to make little mini fridge calendars this year. I used 4 inch acrylic cirlces from the kits 2 remember store for the base of these. But for the magnet on the back I have taken the magnets that come on the front of the new phone books and cut them into strips. I have tons of these around from when Patrick was little. They were the perfect size for him to play with and I didn't have to worry about him swallowing them...lol. They are 4 inch squares, I have even used them for my calendar base in the past. They use to be alot thicker than the ones we have received the past few years.

Here are the magnets I used...

I have ordered little index print size photos of each of the families. I got some great shots of each individual family last year so I am going to use those. I try to match them to their decor or personalities if possible. It makes it more personal rather than mass produced.

For the calender pages I just looked online for some printable pages. I found mine HERE I cropped the top portion off since they had images at the top. And printed them out at wallet size.

I punched holes and added brads to hold the pages together and on the acrylic. But I have also run a line of hot glue across the top to hold the pages together before. It works great.

This one is actually for a single cousin so I got to use lots of bling on this one.

This one is for a bachelor friend of ours who is more like an uncle. He loves to get pics of Patrick and his 2 cousins. So I will use a photo of the boys on this one. I sprayed the entire thing with silver glimmer mist including the calendar pages to keep them from being so stark white.

This one is for one of our cousins. He is a single dad with 2 boys. So I tried to keep it....boy!
I have 3 done and many many more to do. Have you started making Christmas gifts yet? What type of things to you make? I would love to here or even see them. I still have lots of other things to do as well so I could use some ideas.
Don't forget there is still time to get in on the k2r contest! It ends August 14th. Go HERE for all the details.

a couple of cards

I got about 30 minutes to play around today and managed to whip up 2 cards. I wanted to work on a couple of other things but I was needing the instant satisfaction of a card today...lol

I used sketch 12 over at Midnight Madness for this one. I also used the corner flourish rubber stamp from kits 2 remember. I love this stamp. I wish you could see it better, it ended up with most of it covered by the time I got done adding the flowers. No worries you will be able to see it on another project this week or check it out HERE. After I was done with the card I spritzed the entire card lightly with gold glimmer mist. I found a friendship quote online and then altered it some in Word. I like the way it turned out. I was going to post it here as a freebie but haven't figure it out yet...lol. If you would like me to send it to you just email me at rlhudson94@hotmail.com

When I first saw this sketch I was a little hesitant. I am horrible with tags. Now that it is done I am loving it! I see me using this one again and again.

supplies: K&Co pp and tag, cs??, DCWV flower brad, Prima small flowers, Kits2Remember rubber stamp, Tattered Angels glimmer mist, Ranger distress ink, Making Memories pins, fabric flowers, lace, ribbon, quote off internet.

This one is for several challenges.

Midnight Madness-sketch
Whimsy Stamps-friendship
Dutch Dare-lace
Little Yellow Challenge-lace and pearls
2 Red Bananas-quote as main feature
One Stop-swirls and pearls (hope it works eventhough most of the swirls are covered. swirl stamp and swirls in the paper)
Pile it on-at least 3 flowers

Spoonful of Sugar-flower frenzy

Closeup of the details.

This one I am not so sure about. I made it for a friend who picked out the papers, wanted circles and no flowers. She loves it I am not so sure about it. What do you think? Be honest I can handle it...lol.

Color Create-orange, pink and green

supplies: Sassafrass Lass pp, Ranger distress ink, Stazon ink, Rubber Stampede stamp, buttons, twine
