ICS #23

It is Tuesday again so today we get another wonderful sketch by Dawn at Inspirational Card Sketches. Here is this weeks sketch.

I really like this and it just seemed like it needed to be made with acrylic for some reason so that is what I did.
Supplies: KI Memories pattern papers, Prima flowers, Heidi Swapp bling, Rubber Stampede stamp, iron on flower from Walmart, ribbon, sharpie, stazon ink

Be sure to head over to the ICS blog and see what else the fabulous DT came up with and check out the fabulous prize package for this week. We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Simply Sassy cards

Here are a few cards that I got completed for Simply Sassy with the digi stickers she has in the store. These are fun to work with and basicly the same as digi stamps except for they are already colored and they have the white edge around them like a sticker.

This one is using "Bobby da biker boy". He is so cute and looks so proud of riding that bike. I thought he would be perfect for a little boy that had mastered that skill.

Supplies: Bazzill cs, Dreamstreet papers, My Sentiments Exactly stamps, Simply Sassy digi sticker, Ranger distress ink, ribbon

I think this little birdhouse could be used for so many things. I printed this one out twice and cut just the house out of one of them. Then used pop dots to layer them. I wanted it to be real simple. I added on the inside "from my house to yours".

Supplies: DCWV cardstock, Rouge de Garance pattern paper, Simply Sassy digi sticker, Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream stamp, Ranger distress ink, ribbon

I hope you will head over to the Simply Sassy store and blog and see what all there is. And stay tuned because there will be more projects added soon. I will also have the other DT members added soon as well for you to check out.

Update: I fixed the link to the blog it was broken before.

You can also visit the group site here at SNR!

five in one!

I have been busy scrapping the day away today and will do the same tomorrow. Since I have the house to myself today and tomorrow. Patrick is still in Colorado and Nick is gone to his out of town tournament. I will tell you what it is really strange with the house being so quite.
Well I have gotten alot of stuff done but I can't share 4 projects yet because it is DT work that will be showing up in the next week. But I did want to share this card real quick that I managed to squeeze 5 challenges into. Woo Hoo! Eventhough I am too late to get in on the Allsorts drawing it still feels good to complete it!

I found a new (to me) challenge site today while blog hopping and guess what this card works for it too! Yeah! Check this one out if you have a chance. A Spoon Full of Sugar
Bee Crafy-wedding
Cardvarks-window card
Paper take Weekly-use something downloaded
ABC challenge-letter "T" two tone
Allsorts-something with wings

The image is on the inside of the card. And I cut the scalloped frame freehand and then it is popped off the card.

Supplies: Bazzill cardstock, October Afternoon and Basic Grey pattern paper, Bee Crafty digi stamp, Around the Block colored pencils, Peebles Inc chalk, Sharpie

kits 2 remember project

I completed another quick project yesterday and wanted to share it with you all.
I used a 4x8 piece of acrylic and the polka dot ribbon from a previous krew kit.

I have a friend having a baby soon so I wanted to add to a previous project (frame and album) that I was making for her. So I used the same Cosmo Cricket Jack's World papers.
I painted the back edge with Making Memories pearl white paint. I had a couple of dollar store white flowers that I sprayed with glimmer mist also. It took longer for this stuff to dry than it did to put the hanger together.

Of course I had to add a little distress ink to the paper, boarder sticker and bunny edges. I also added a brad for his nose and some google eyes to the bunny.

I ran some thin ribbon through the button holes and tied a bow behind them. Then simply attached them after running my ribbon hanger through the holes.

Super simple and fast. I am working on another project as well hopefully I will have it complete by Monday or Tuesday!

Here is a link to the other post with the book, frame and a card that will go with this. Sorry about those bad pics it was raining when I was trying to taken them...and well, I was too lazy to take more today...lol.

Have a great weekend!!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday Challenge 2

It is time for Scrap & Stamps 2nd challenge! Woo hoo!! Be sure to head over there and check out what the rest of the DT did. They really cranked out some beautiful pages.

This weeks sponsor is Sweet & Sassy stamps and we were given some really adorable Courtney Fowler digi stamps to work with. The challenge was a birds & butterflies theme. Well anything nature related.

This is what I came up with. I printed out the 3 of the images on the yellow pattern paper, but for the dragonfly and bee I also printed them on a transparency. I used the transparent wings for them. And added icicle stickles to the wings. All of the bugs are popped off the page.

Here is a closeup of one of the bugs.

supplies: BoBunny pattern paper, DCWV cardstock, American Crafts thickers, Doodlebug glitter chipboard, Making Memories rubons, Sweet & Sassy digi stamps, Ranger distress ink and stickles, ribbon, staples, popdots, sharpie

Hurry over to Scrap and Stamp and see what you can win! You have until July 2nd to get your entry in. The new challenge will be up on the 4th.

Have a great day!!

Kits 2 Remember Father's Day album

I wanted to make a small album with photos of Nick and Patrick together that he could easily keep in the console of his truck if he wanted to. I like to get Patrick's ideas when we are making something for his dad. While we were talking I started asking him what he loved about his dad, so that is when the idea came together. Patrick had one request, that it not have any of that stringy (ribbon) stuff on it...lol. Okay I can do that!

I started out with three 4x4 metal panels and three ATC size metal panels. I also used Thickers, alcohol inks, Colorbok stickers, Bazzill cardstock, buttons, twine and black ink. I used my Crop-a-dile to punch the holes.
I kept the entire album pretty simple. I used Cranberry alcohol ink on the edge of the 4x4 panels and also colored my o-rings with it. I love being able to custom color metal embellies. It is really simple I just put a few drops of the color I want in a bag and then squish the item around in the baggie, remove and let it dry. Voila!
On the small panels I dabbed alcohol inks all over each side. On one side I used cranberry, latte and ginger. On the other I used butterscotch, stream and lettuce.

On each of the small panels I used Thickers for the number and a sharpie and the stickers to put the reason.
I added a 3.25x3.25 photo mat to each of the large metal panels and I will let my son pick out some of his favorite photos of him and his dad together.

Added a few buttons with twine and it is all done!
Fast and easy and I am sure he will love getting it from his little man. So what are your plans for Father's Day? I would love to see what you are making!!
Be sure to check out the rest of the k2r design krew. There are always new ideas being posted on the krew blog. And if you haven't tried out the kits2remember metal yet you should, it is priced great and so fun to work with.

I know I haven't been posting much in the last couple of weeks but I have been sick with the flu. Thank goodness just the regular kind and then it turned into bronchitis. Ugh....I hate being sick.
This week I have been busy getting Patrick's stuff together for a trip to see his dad. He was not too happy about going and I hate making him. But I know he will have a great time once he gets there. He left yesterday...boo hoo. I have been plans on what I hope to get done while he is away. Scrappy related and around the house! So we will see!!!

Since I have nothing scrappy related to share I wanted to share a few of the photos from Patrick's t-ball season. This was a good year for him, major improvement from last year. There were no tears involved at all!! Yeah!!!!

This was before his first game...

And after the last one with his coach, Mrs. Shirley...

The trophies didn't light up this year but he was equally excited since they had these bendy ball people on top.I plan to be back tomorrow with my project for Kits 2 Remember for this week. I am a little bit late with that as well. oops...

Inspirational Card Sketches #20

I am a little late getting this up this week. It has been an insane week for me with no computer or scrapping time permitted. I have been busy getting my little guy ready to go on a trip and spending some time with him as well. That being said, you have got to check out Dawn's great sketch this week! And be sure to head over to ICS and check out what the DT has done with the sketch and the wonderful digi stamps from Whimsie Doodles.

Here is my take on this weeks sketch. I used one of the Wimsie Doodles stamps here, this little guy is free to all the readers this week if you head over to ICS you can grab him up. Isn't he cute...he also comes with the saying "this bud's for you". So cute. You also have time to get in the drawing for a couple of digi stamps as well.

supplies: Chatterbox pattern papers, Fancy Pants pattern paper (pink background), Prima flowers, The Robins Nest dew drops, K&Co bling, Whimsie Doodles digi stamp, colored pencils, sharpie

Scrap and Stamp DT reveal

It is time for the first ever Scrap and Stamp challenge! I am so excited to be on the design team with the other super talented ladies.
I love this sketch by Pamela!

Here is my take on it. I flipped it because I just can't leave anything alone...lol. I think it turned out cute. I wasn't too sure at first. Which it is a challenge for me to use bright colors.

We had a little bird nest on our back porch last spring and these are the tiny babies.

supplies: DCWV cardstock, Sassafrass pattern paper, Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream bird stamps, Autumn Leaves number stamp, My Sentiments Exactly alpha stamps, Heidi Swapp flowers, Ranger distress ink, Stampendous embossing powder, twine, ribbon, button

I embossed the title but you can't really tell it in the photo....

Our sponsor this month is Limelight Papercrafts! Mandy has a nice little store and they are celebrating their 1st anniversary! Here is the yummy prize package Mandy has offered.

So if you would like in on the fun head over to Scrap and Stamp to get all the details!

kits 2 remember wall hanging

I started working on this forever ago it seems and I kept putting it to the side until I would figure out some other little detail. Well I am finally ready to share it with you all. I used an 8 inch stadium album (except for the last 2 pages), I liked the graduated sizes for this wall hanging.

I used Autumn Leaves stamps for the "today", the "is" was from a wish stamp out of a birthday set by K&Co I believe. I also used just the corner of the k2r flourish stamp 1-07.

On the month panel I used Cricut Design Studio to weld my words together, after cutting them out I adhered one to each side of white cardstock. I used the binding from an old calender to bind it into a notebook. It was super each to twist the wire off and used the existing holes for a template to punch the holes. On the acrylic I used the k2r flourish stamp 1-05 to stamp a box around the area for the months to go. Then I used the ends of the stamp to add some extra swirls along the edges. I used a piece of black cardstock larger than the little notebook and adhered it to the acrylic on 3 sides. It makes it easy to switch the months.

here is a photo of the 2nd panel before I added the months.

Again, I used Cricut Design Studio to weld my days of the weeks together. And added them to the front and back of white cardstock. I used some cute Urban Lily papers and punched holes to hold ribbon for the holders. It was a little tricky getting it to hold together but I ended up using an eyelet on the backside to hold the ribbon together. The extra "days" are held in the ribbon on the backside.

I used the flourish stamp 1-07 on the corners, cut the numbers with my cricut after figuring out the layout I glued the numbers to the backside and added stickles to the front for some depth. I punched notches on the sides to hold the ribbon in place.

Covered the last panel with Urban Lily paper again and a flourish stamp in the corner. I wanted a clock face since my 5 year old is trying to learn how to tell time. It is a sheer one from Paperbilities so I backed it with white cardstock as well.

It was a fun project to make! And it really made me think to come up with something different for each panel. Patrick thinks it is fun to change it everyday as well!

I realized that I forgot to post the teacher gift we made for Patrick's teacher this year. Check the kits 2 remember krew blog for more ideas.

This is Patrick's first year and I don't know that any other teacher will ever live up to Miss Michelle. I tend to help out alot in her class so I have tons of photos of all the chicklets.

My plan was to make a 6x6 album with those photos. I started out with 4 pieces of k2r acrylic and 3 pieces of chipboard. I altered the pages starting and ending with acrylic. I kept the covers very simple. I added a strip of paper on the inside of the front cover and added a frame that I cut with my cricut to the cover. I simply added the class and year to it. I did a little bit of doodling through out.

I wanted to keep it bright and cheary so I used these fun Paper Trunk papers (plus her fav color is orange...hehehe). I kept the basic layout the same through out. I wanted some of the acrylic to show on the inside pages so I used a border punch on cardstock and then added pattern paper to the center. It is the perfect size for a 4x6 photo. I added bling to the scallop borders on both sides.

I haven't added the pictures yet because I wasn't sure how all the parents would feel about them being on the web. The plan is to add a multiple pictures to some of the pages but we will see. I will probably add a few buttons as well. I want to keep it simple since I am added so many pictures. I let the kids sign the last page with a simple message of "we love you" in the center. I also added some faux hinges to the sides, which is just grungeboard with a light amount of distress ink to add a rustic feel to them.

You would know that I forgot to take a picture of it with the photos in it. I also made a 5x7 card with a 4x6 photo of Patrick and her together. It turned out great and he drew a photo on the inside for her. Of course I forgot to take a photo of that as well...duh
