It has been one crazy week around here..I mean super busy. I haven't had a chance to really do anything. And boy has the house paid for it...it looks like a tornado came thru here. I hadn't realized how bad until I sat down this afternoon for a few minutes. Of course after looking around I had to get up and start cleaning because it was driving me nuts.

On a great note..Smokey came home Tuesday night. If you read my post from a few weeks ago we thought he had run off to die. He was scheduled to have a very large tumor removed from his side and he disappeared a few days before his appointment. And has been gone ever since. Wed morning I had him at the vets office and they removed the tumor. He is doing great and I got to pick him up today. I also worked all day at the auction, at the concession stand for our school. I was exausted that night.
Thursday we had to take Stuart, our other cat, to be fixed. He came home today also...he is such a scared cat he was so pitiful when I got there. I rean errands all day on Thursday because we were out of everything around here. It has been so long since I have went to get groceries and such.
Today I spent the day at the school. I changed out all of the bulliton boards for Miss Michelle and got some craft projects ready for next week. Along with mediating a few disputes. Kids fight about the craziest things. God Bless all of you teachers out there. I really don't think I could do that all day every day! Twice a week is enough for me.

I don't think next week will be any different. They are having the book fair at Patrick's school and I will be helping with that.

I know I can't seem to say no. But I believe it is our job as parents to help all we can at our kids school.

I am heading off to bed now because to be honest I feel like I am going to pass out right here in front of the computer..lol. Until later!

Christmas Cards All Year Round

I made these 5 cards for the Jan. challenge over at Christmas Cards All Year Round.
The challenge was to use the colors red and green and either rubon or stamps.

cardstock-DCWV (green) & bazzill (red)
pattern paper-DCWV
stamps-studio g & queen & co.
flowers-prima
brads-making memories
ribbon-peebles inc
rub on-the paper studio
distress ink, punches, sticker, gem

I really like how they turned out. I usually lean more towards simple fast cards..and these fit the bill...lol

I finally set up an etsy store...woo hoo! I guess we will see how it goes. I only have a few items in it right now but I am adding a few more everyday.

I also have a layout coming out in Scrapbooking.com in March!!

Metal art display board

This was a fun little project to make. If you are like me your little one draws lots of pictures and wants them all on the fridge. Patrick is steadily drawing more and I am out of room..lol. So I came up with this little metal display board and he is proud to have his art work so prominently displayed.
I used a 8x12 metal panel from kits2remember, Doodlebug sugared cardstock, KI Memories paper, Making Memories alpha stickers, Reminisce school stickers, thickers and some old coaster alphas from Imagination Project. The paper kit came from a theme pack at Paper Popsicles.

It came together really fast. I traced Patrick's hand for a template. And painted the coaster alphas with MM paint and glaze.

I used some foam tape behind the hand prints, glue and crayons.

I just used a bull clip to hang it with, it is holding nicely.

And I added magnets to the backs of 2 bull clips to hold the art work. That way they can be moved for larger or smaller projects. I also punched 2 holes in the metal panel with the crop a dile (very easy to do) and added brads to loop the bull clip over for heavier projects. I think the magnets alone would work great on the larger bull clips but these are so small I couldn't use a very large magnet.

So what do you think of this? I know it will get alot of use around our house.

Check out Rodger Rooster and Patrick. This is the granddad of one of the little girls in Patrick's class. He came to read a farm book to the kids and dressed up as a rooster and brought them all a packet of seeds too. The kids got a big kick out of this. And we have nominated him for the class reader since noone else will ever live up to this..lol. I got picks of him with the whole class and each child. We are planning a project with these.

krew kit #10

I had alot of fun working with this krew kit. I am so not a pink person but I love this Basic Grey LilyKate line. As soon as I opened to box Patrick wanted me to make something for his little "girlfriend" Lily. That worked for me because I wanted to do something nonbaby.

I used a 6x6 acrylic and metal panel for this wall hanging. I cut the letters from the glitter cardstock with my cricut. And simply added flowers. I sprayed the tulle with green glimmer mist, I love the little bit of shimmer and color that it gives.
Instead of tying knots in the ribbon to hang it by I sewed it together to give it a more finished look.

I don't know why this photo keeps turning sideways...sorry about that.
On the metal panel I just covered it with pattern paper and attached the larger flowers and put the smaller flowers on magnets. That way the photos can be changed out.
The brads, heidi swapp flowers, paint and eyelets are not from the kit.
Also, all of the flowers (except for the ones on the magnets) are fastened through the acrylic and metal so you don't have to worry about them falling off. I used my crop-a-dile to punch the holes. It works like a charm even on the metal.

I also made a 6x6 frame for my SIL. Again I used my cricut for the title. And added ink and brads from my stash. I love the heidi swapp bling that came in the kit and that leaf ribbon is awesome.
This kit came with a 5 panel 6x6 Clear Scraps album, Basic Grey Lily Kate line, 2 pieces of DCWV glitter cardstock and alphas, 2 pieces of 6x6 chipboard, 6x6 metal panel, metal embelly, 2 packages of Imaginise flowers, heidi swapp bling, and more than 8 yards of ribbon and tulle. There is alot in this kit and it is only $25.
Be sure to head over to the kits2remember store to grab one up. Jessica is having some great deals on certain items too. So be sure to check out the sale section while you are there.

Our dear Smokey

I am afraid our dear Smokey is gone. Some of you may remember that a few months ago we had to have a tumor removed from his side. They said it was caused by his vaccines..insane I know. Well it came back before it even healed all the way. This time it was growing even faster than before. We made another appointment to have it removed again I just wasn't ready to face losing him. He doesn't act like it bothers him unless you touch it. It had gotten so large that it rubbed when he went out the catdoor to get to the litterbox so we had been letting him go outside because of that. He never goes outside for more than one night normally. But he has been gone since Monday. His appointment was yesterday. We haven't been able to find him since he went out on Monday. I am so afraid he went off somewhere to die. I hate to think he was alone at the end. I keep hoping he will show up.

So in honor of our little guy here is my fav picture of Smokey. And one of Smokey and Stuart together. He thought he was Stuarts mom I think...lol. He brought this kitten up and took care of him until we brought him in the house.

But to move on from our sad news. Here are the little goodies bags I made for Patrick's Christmas party. They came together pretty quickly. I used my cricut to cut the bags and reindeer out. We used wiggly eyes, and stickles on his nose, which I poped up with pop dots
and My Sentiments Exactly stamps.
We put each childs name on the bags because Patrick made ornaments and wanted to give one to everybody.

We had a very eventful night last night. Around 7 we got a phone call that our 2 year old nephew had been shot. Yeah you heard me right SHOT! How insane is that? They were in their house with Carsyn riding his tricycle, Jaise was also playing in the room. And there was a shooting at the neighbors house on another street and 2 stray bullets came into their house and 2 stuck in the banister of the porch!

Carsyn is fine really. He was very lucky. It hit him on the edge of his knee, it went all the way through from front to back. Only fatty tissue was effected..luckily! They went in last night around midnight and cleaned it again and sewed it up. He was such a trooper. He cried until they covered it up at home. And then started laughing and laughed and played while in the ambulance. He never cried while at the ER until they washed it out! Everyone was amazed at how he was doing.

He was back in his room at 2 this morning and by lunch he was up and walking on it!

Patrick was so worried about him. He refused to stay with grandma and stayed up all night at the hospital with us. He had to check Carsyn from head to toe to make sure he was really okay. Such a sweet boy!

Thank God it wasn't any worse. We could sure use any prayers and thoughts for our little guy though. And for the family they are now looking to sell their house and buy a new one.

Thanks so much guys!

As promised another project that I have done recently. This is krew kit #9 from kits2remember! It is full of these yummy Fruit Cake line (papers, diecuts, alphas) from Basic Grey, lots of ribbon, 2 large jingle bells, Bazzill flowers and bling brads and of course an 8x8 acrylic album. You should check out this kit it is full of goodness. Plus it comes with ATC size metal panels.
I wanted to make an album about our holiday traditions and I thought this was the perfect kit to do it with.

I did finally get a decent photo of the village and memory tree (my favorite decoration I believe). I just need to take another photo of the album now...lol

I made a couple of ornaments with the metal panels. I used scraps from the kit, glimmer mist, alcohol inks and those little tiny school photos.
This kit was posted on the krew blog in December but there are still some in the store!

I was very excited to get to design a project with Jessica's Home for the Holidays kit. I love this little house album by Clear Scraps. This little kit comes with all the goodies you need to complete this album for only $15. Plus with full instructions on how I created mine. So be sure to head over to the k2r store and check them out. This has been posted on the krew blog for awhile now but I am finally getting a chance to share here.

Here are a few projects that I did do over at Paper Popsicles Handmade Holiday Crop back in November. These were all fast and fun projects. And who doesn't need cards, gift card holders and few wreaths around.

Wow! Has it really been 2 months since I posted? Actually it has been at least that long since I have been on any of my scrap sites too. Girls I haven't forgotten about you. I promise to be back soon. The only site I have been on is the K2R blog. Actually that is all of the scrapping I have gotten done as well. We had a virus on our computer around Thanksgiving I believe it was. And I messed my wrist and hand up so I have been staying off of the computer and no scrapping except for what I needed to do. Because I about couldn't stand the pain just from normal things I had to do. They still don't know what is going on with me. But there is a knot on the top of my hand and we don't know where it came from. At least it doesn't hurt as much now. So I am not complaining.
Lets see...I never posted any of Patrick's birthday pictures. Here are just a few. He wanted a godzilla party. So this is the cake I came up with. I think it turned out pretty good. He was so excited because he recieved 4 more of the creatures..lol

While I am on cakes. Here is the Barney cake I did for my nephew, Carsyn's 2nd birthday. Patrick couldn't believe I was making Barney since I refused to let him watch it when he was little...lol...and he doesn't see why anyone likes him. Thats my boy!

Thats it for now. I will be back tomorrow with some scrappy stuff. I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season full of family, friends and wonderful memories.
