Blog Challenge #4
Suzanne's challenge this week was to post a picture that we love that we took this month.
Honestly, I had several others that I was trying to decide on, but then I got this shot today of Smokey and Jack. The decision was made. Not that there is anything spectacular about this photo except for the fact that Smokey did not eat Jack. Our cat is known to kill lots of birds. Everytime he goes out he drags up another one. So we have always been really careful with Jack and Jeanne. But today they were sitting on Nick's shoulder and Jack decided to take a little flight and THIS is where he landed...lol. Of course this was not to Jack's knowledge until he landed.
I just lucked out that I had my camera near by and got that first look of "fright" and "ohhhh dinner." I was shocked there were no flying feathers. This went on for several minutes, Smokey was very patient....until Jack started picking at his fur...That was enough...it was time for him to GO.
So this is my pick for favorite photo this month..just because of the laugh value.

~~~More stuff~~~
Just a few more things I have been creating. I am not sure when I started doing so many one page layouts. It is sure not like me. But what ever...I am loving them anyway.
This is a scraplift of Naureen's jocks layout over at Scrapdango. It was for a contest over there and how fun is this Spice kit?? I love it! But then I love all the kits over at Scrapdango!
Everything on this one is from Moxxie. I thought these papers were so fun.
I love these Noteworthy papers. This was one of the layouts I did for the Dec. GDT spot at Paper Popsicles. I loved working with all the wonderful products Melissa sent me. She has two wonderful kits every month to choose from...You should go check them out at Paper Popsicles.
I love these bright papers from Reminisce, it is actually the halloween line but I thought they worked well with my pictures. Just a few pictures of Patrick painting. He loves to paint and draw.
Everything here is from the Dec kit at Paper Popsicles...aren't those the best papers ever!!
Recent Creations
Looking back on my blog I have realized in the past several months I haven't really posted anything I have made. So I thought I would share a few projects I have been making.
This countdown calender was so much fun. I used the Christmas Theme pack from Paper Popsicles. And some Miss Elizabeth stickers and Moxxie rubons from my stash. And that adorable little reigndeer stamp is from my friend Sheila who has followed her dream and started her own stamp business. Where she designs and makes them herself. You should go check out her site.
I made these ornaments for some friends at Christmas.
I loved these papers from the monthly kit at Scrapdango. They were so much fun to work with. Carrie always has wonderful kits with lots of goodies.
This was a Christmas sign I made because Patrick was concerned Santa wouldn't stop since we would be out of town. Everything is from Moxxie except for the ribbon, snowflake brad and the stickles.
This was a fun project. It was for the monthly contest at Paper Popsicles. We were suppose to scrap something we like about january. I thought with an altered cd case I could keep it out so I could see it and remind myself why...
Blog Challenge #3
Okay here is this weeks blog challenge from Suzanne. To pick a holiday and rant and/or rave about it.
I would have to say that all holidays are too commercialized. It drives me crazy. It is insane that they put out merchandise months ahead of time for specific holidays. But if I have to pick just one I would say Easter. It has been turned into just another holiday about candy, fun and a big fluffy bunny. Now I am all for candy...boy do I love candy. But the real reason behind Easter is being forgotten. I do believe it can be fun for the kids but also a learning experience too. A chance for them to learn about Jesus and his sacrifice for us.
I think we should all take a step back and think about the real reasons for the holidays we all celebrate.
What does your name mean?
What Regina Means:
You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.
You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.
You are deeply philosophical and thoughtful. You tend to analyze every aspect of your life.You are intuitive, brilliant, and quite introverted. You value your time alone.Often times, you are grumpy with other people. You don't appreciate them trying to interfere in your affairs.
You tend to be pretty tightly wound. It's easy to get you excited... which can be a good or bad thing.You have a lot of enthusiasm, but it fades rather quickly. You don't stick with any one thing for very long.You have the drive to accomplish a lot in a short amount of time. Your biggest problem is making sure you finish the projects you start.
You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.
You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality.
Do you want to know what your name means...they find it here....http://www.blogthings.com/whatsyournameshiddenmeaningquiz/
Most of this is true of me but I don't really see myself as being flaky, jealous or paranoid. But I guess that is a matter of opinion..lol. And I always finish projects..I hate leaving things undone, but that goes back to the perfectionist in me.
Blog Challenge #2
So as I have done with everything else for the new year...this challenge is late. My new friend Suzanne over at Scrapdango is posting a weekly blog challenge on her blog that I have been meaning to participate with. But of course I am way behind so I plan to play a little catch up in the next few days.
This on is to focus on JUST the first half hour of your waking day. Write a blog entry describing it in depth.
The first half hour of my day is nothing very exciting. I do not wake to an alarm clock unless I am going somewhere. I either get up when my husband leaves for work at 7:45 or when ever Patrick decides to wake me up with screaming from his room...MOMMY, MOMMY, MOMMY..for some reason he will not get out of bed, I must go to him. I am not a morning person so I try and sleep for as long as I can since sleep doesn't come to me easily at night. As long as I have a few minutes alone in the mornings all is good with the day.
But alas, this is not how my day begun today. You would think on Sunday I would get to sleep in but NO. At 6:45 am I am woken by the the screaching of Jack and Jeanne, these are our 2 cockatils. They have reversed roles, use to it was Jeanne who was the loud one and Jack was so quite you didn't know he was here unless the blow dryer is running (a whole other story). But now it is Jack screaching a yelling. He has the loudest high pitch I have ever heard..it is so annoying this early in the morning. It makes me tempted to put him on the porch because I sooo want to hurt him right now. It is way too early for this. But no..this would solve nothing but us both freezing our tush off.
So I give in and get out of the warm comfort of our bed when I realize Jack is not going to give it up. Head for the kitchen for my all needed caffeine of the day. No, not coffee but Mt. Dew. Me and coffee don't mix. I so love Mt. Dew it is my little wonder/power drink. I then head for the computer. I don't function properly without my all need computer time in the mornings. I don't feel my day has started out right without. If all goes as usual I spend the next hour checking emails and the message boards.
So this is how my first 30 minutes went today. No not the typical day for me, although it has been regular this week...BE QUITE JACK!
Well I have been a little bit slacking in the new year as far as blogging is concerned. The end of 2007 was so busy that I have been relishing in the fact that it is a new year and that I haven't had a ton of plans so far.
I realized today that I never updated about Christmas.
So a quick run down of some of the things we have been doing.
We had several Christmas gathering so now Patrick is convinced that Christmas lasts at least a week with presents everyday. We actually spent Christmas in the Smokies with my cousin and her family. It was suppose to be more of us but that didn't work out. We had a wonderful time. We spent the days lounging around and site seeing and the nights in front of the fire or in the hot tub. Of course with the boys fighting over toys. Patrick ended up sick on Christmas Eve and was sick for the next week. So by the end of our trip he and I were both miserable. We drove home the day after Christmas...this was no fun with a sick child in tow.
We got together with Nick's family before our trip and with mine after. I was lucky enough to be able to go pick my sister up and have her with us for a few days during our family Chirstmas. I would have loved to have been able to take her with us to the Smokies but she couldn't handle the traveling.
Nick also planned a small get together for my 32nd birthday without my knowledge. Amber baked me a yummy "daisy" cake. All in all it was a wonderful day.
Of course since having kids New Years Eve isn't that big of a deal with us. We had planned to have some family over for the evening but plans do change. So we spent the day just the 3 of us as a family. We took Patrick to see Alvin and the Chipmunks at the drive in. All I can say is at least he wasn't aggravating everyone else. It was such a cute movie though. Of course we had to make one more trip to see the Christmas lights. There is a new display close to here that is pretty cool. They had tons of lights, even though most of them where in the trees they put alot of planning into it and had built some really cool displays and also did a fireworks show for new years. It will be interesting to see how this display grows every year.
Nick and I have also celebrated our 1st anniversary! Yeah us! It sure did go by fast. Nick surprised me with roses, dinner and a movie. We saw National Treasure 2...I know not exactly romantic but it is what I have been wanting to see. Patrick stayed with my MIL which is a huge step because he doesn't stay with anyone. So we got to stay out late and not worry about anything. We also went shopping and I got new goodies for my camera.
So this is some of the major happening with us. So this post ended up being longer than expected so thank you for taking the time to read it.
I plan to get back to blogging regularly and posting some of my creations. I have been making lots of time for scrapping recently and need to get something loaded.
