1st lost tooth and tooth fairy box

Patrick lost his first tooth today. We didn't even know it was loose until this morning. He was on the computer and all of a sudden started screaming "Mama guess what" I thought something was wrong the way he was screaming then he came out with a big grin say "my tooth is coming out". It was really loose too. I kept telling him to just wait but he was insistent that it had to come out NOW! Nick came home to help him with it. That is one thing I just can't make myself do...lol. They worked at and worked at it with no success for awhile. Patrick thought it had to come out with a string. That didn't happen...lol. He was okay with the whole thing surprisingly until he finally got it pulled and he cried that it hurt. Finally got him calmed down and a photo take. When I started to put the towel back in his mouth he spotted the blood and FREAKED out!
He is impatiently waiting for the tooth fairy now..he wants to know how much she leaves. I told him it varies I think. He then said he is going to leave her a note because he wants more than a dollar. Seriously!! This boy is something else...lol

Here they are trying with they string.
Finally out!
I have been planning on altering this little altoid tin for him to use to leave his teeth for the tooth fairy. I had even already painted it but I just hadn't gotten around to finishing it. Well I had to get busy and finish it..lol. He had already been asking for it because he knew my plans. I don't know why I kept putting it off it only took a few minutes to complete.
I used papers from my scrap box, a piece of ribbon to go around the edge of the lid, Colorbox alpha stickers and I free handed the tooth from chipboard. I popped the tooth up with some foam tape. I kept reaching for other things to do up the lid but he wouldn't have been happy with me..lol
This works for a couple of challenges as well.

Cafe Mojo-chipboard

I hope you all have a great weekend. I have gotta go we are going to see a movie in the park again tonight. I am going to hate to see these end, next week is the last one. It is always so much fun. We have our nieces birthday party tomorrow then school shopping after. When we get home I plan to scrap the night away!

gift set using Kits 2 Remember and Simply Sassy Designs

Here is a quick little project I did for our nieces birthday. She is constantly writting and drawing so I thought a pretty little notebook would do the trick.
The notebook is 5x7. I took a dollar store find with flimsy covers and removed the covers and replaced with 2 pieces of kits 2 remember chipboard. I used 2 pieces of 8x8 chipboard and cut them down. Simply use the covers you remove for a template to punch the holes. I used some fun Cherry Arte papers, various flowers, buttons, diamond stickles and scraps of ribbon.

I added stickles to the inside of the flowers on the paper and along the edges of the diecut flowers. Instead of bling swirls, which was my first thought, I decided to go with stickle swirls. They don't show up really well in the photos but they add just enought shimmer. The alpas are some old Arctic Frog rubons.

I covered the front with this fun pattern and the back with just the green houndstooth pattern. The inside has a wide stripe paper and I made a little pocket on the front cover with the green. I just used a scrap of papper folded in the edges a little and used my circle cutter to cut a little spot out of the top.

I made a matching book mark with stickles on the flowers ans some Rebekka Erickson rubons.

here is the inside. I will tuck the bookmark and either some cash or a gift certificate in here for her.
Of course there had to be a matching card too.

I used this fun digi stamp from Simply Sassy Designs for this. I layered 2 images together and popped them off the card. I used scraps from the previous project, along with various flowers, stickles, button, ribbon and Fiskars punch. The sentiment is a Studio G stamp. I just stamped on a scrap of paper and cut into a tag. It is the perfect size for this little gift! Again I added stickle swirls.
Closeup of the card. Be sure to check out Simply Sassy there is new products being added daily. We have some really amazing ladies creating new and fun stuff! If you are looking for a fun message board check out our new forum HERE! We are just getting started but there is already a fun group of ladies with us!

I rolled the edges of the diecuts t give a little more depth.
I think these would make great teacher gifts as well. It is hard to believe that it is time to start thinking along those lines again. It seems summer just started. But they start back here this week and the next. Have a great weekend and happy crafting. I plan to get some things made this weekend! Woo Hoo!!
This works for several challenges
High Hopes-sparkle and shine
Color Create-pink, orange, green
Be sure to check out the RAK over at k2r it is for an 8 inch acrylic stadium album! The winner will be picked this Sunday!

ICS #27

Sorry this is late guys. I had it scheduled to post but again it did not! ugh.

Dawn has another fabulous sketch up at Inspirational Card Sketches this week. There is a wonderful prize up for grabs this week so be sure to head over there and see what it is. Also check out the rest of the DT's amazing work! They are all so fabulous!

Here is my take on this weeks sketch. I made this for a friend who was wanting a card for her sister but nothing frilly and flowery. I think this covers it. I really like how it turned out.

After printing the sentiment I added it to a piece of chipboard, covered it with green chalk and inked the edges. I freehanded the tree.

supplies: Pink Paislee pp, Bazzill cs, Maya Road (tree trunk) and unknown chipboard, Ranger distress ink, Digiments sentiment, Peebles Inc chalk, fiskars border punch

Be sure to head over to ICS and see what everyone else did with this sketch.
I promise to be a better blogger this week. Last week was a busy time for me. I had a ton of canning to do...and well that is alot of work..lol

I got a little time to create this morning while my little one was sleeping the day away...lol. I managed to whip up 2 cards that work for several challenges. First off I am sorry about the poor photos. My camera or camera program are not cooperating with me. I can't download my pics for nothing so I am trying to figure that out. So for now I used my cell phone, only it doesn't show the colors of my images too well.

The image on this card is actually 2 colors of pink with the tips of the wings orange. Only it looks pretty distorted. I printed 2 of the image and cut the wings out of one. I added slits so I could slide the wings in and them popped them up for a little depth.

Now I am back to trying to figure out the problem. I hope it is nothing major...I love my camera!!

ICS # 26

Are you ready for another wonderful sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches? Dawn has a good one this week. I have to say it was a challenge for me this week, but that is what it is all about right??

I tried several cards before I came to one I liked even a little bit. I have to say I am happy with this one finally! I liked the look of the same pp for the base and the small squares so I matted them all. Instead of blocks in the center I placed a piece of ribbon all the way across and then a stamped sentiment on the same cardstock. Added a bow to the side and I was done.

supplies: Bazzill cs, My Minds Eye pp, Martha Stewart stamp, Heidi Swapp bling brad, Ranger distress ink, stazon ink, ribbon

Be sure to check out the blog and see what the rest of the amazing design team has done. Also check out the yummy prize for this week. Okay go...create!!

I am also using this card for a few challenges.

kits 2 remember atc album

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend and getting alot of scrappy projects done to get in on the kits 2 remember kontest! If you haven't heard about it yet be sure to check here for all the details.

For my project this week I used 5 pieces of ATC acrylic, white stazon ink, a scrap of My Minds Eye papers, ribbons, skittles, paint, Bazzill, Maya Road and Scenic Route chipboard. I wanted a small album that I could attach to my purse or bag with photos of my guys.

I kept the front simple with a piece of ribbon wrapped around and tied and 3 skittles in the corner with ink on the edges of the panel.
Then I added the pattern papers, chipboard heart and my title on the 2nd page. I painted all of my chipboard elements orange since there was a touch of orange in nearly all of the photos plus the paper. I inked and doodled the edges of the paper and the chipboard and added a title on a strip of paper.
I kept the rest of the pages very simple with a photo, inked edges and a drawn frame around the photos. I added 3 skittles or either a heart with ribbon behind it to each page. For the very last page I just inked the edges that way I don't have to worry about messing up the album.

Now I have pictures at the ready and I don't have to dig around to find them. I didn't realize I have had so much orange in my life until I started going back through pictures. It seems to be a favorite color for me to buy my son..lol.
I hope you get a little time to play with your k2r goodness this week and to participate in the kontest!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday Challenge 4

It is time for another challenge over at Scrap and Stamp. It is an easy one this time. It is water themed, anything goes as long as it has to do with water and you need to use at least 2 pattern papers, 2 stamps and 3 embellies. Be sure to check out the blog and see what the rest of the DT came up with and what the prize is. I hope you will get a chance to play along with us.

I have had the idea for this layout in my head for awhile now but of course it didn't come out the way I pictured. I am always joking that the lake/fishing is my hubbys mistress so that is where this one came from.
I used the arrow stamps from Thats Jazzy Stamp Dreams I love them because they come with the outline of the arrow plus different inserts for it...gotta love that. The little fish are a Studio G stamp but it had a black circle around the fish so I just trimmed around the little guy because I didn't want the large circle. I roughed up all the edge of the papers and photo.

supplies: GCD papers, American Craft thickers, Pressed Petals epoxy alphas, Karen Foster chipboard, Studio G (fish) and Thats Jazzy Stamp Dreams (arrows) stamps, Apple Barrell paint, sharpie, brads, markers
I realized I haven't really shared any pictures lately. It has become a challenge to get any pictures of Patrick over the past several months. I guess he is tired of his paparazzi...lol

Here are a couple of pictures I got of him yesterday with his new godzilla tshirt on. He is all about the godzilla. Anything with this big ugly beast and he is one happy camper. Aunt Cassie and Uncle Jason sent him this and we had to snap a pic to send to them for a thank you of course. They also got him the coveted (by Patrick) Mothra and King Ghidorah figures he has been wanting forever! I think they have just become his favorite aunt and uncle...lol. My little guy is such a ham.

Okay I am off to bed see you guys tomorrow....well later today..lol.

ICS # 25 and Simply Sassy Designs

It is that time of the week again that we get another one of Dawn's lovely sketches over at Inspirational Card Sketches. And I have to say I love this one!

Here is my take on it and I actually stuck with the sketch pretty close. Be sure to head over to the ICS blog and see what the other ladies did with it, they are gorgeous as always. And see what the prize is if you play along...it will be well worth it.
supplies: Basic Grey papers, Bazzill cardstock, Technique Tuesday tiles, Ranger distress ink, Stampin Up stamp, Making Memories paint, pins and buttons, Prima flowers, Around the Block colored pencils, Peebles Inc chalk, markers, tulle, fabric flower, sharpie

I am using this one for several challenges...Craft Mojo (paint), High Hopes (daisies, well white flowers), One Stop Craft (furry things), and Our Creative Corner (pet parade)

I had time last night to play around with a few of the digi stickers from Simply Sassy and let me tell you like having them already colored in. They make for a fast card and you all know I like fast projects..lol. They come with the white area around the edge so they have the look of a sticker. I used the ICS #25 sketch for this one too.

Be sure to visit the rest of the DT over at Simply Sassy they have been busy creating with them as well. Their blogs are listed on the righthand side of my blog.

This one Patrick will be giving to a friend of his that turned 7 yesterday. Now I have to make 2 boy cards for her twin brothers that are turning 6 before the weekend. They are all having a party Saturday!!
supplies: Basic Grey papers, DCWV cardstock, Prima flowers, Simply Sassy digi stickers, Junkitz chipboard, Around the Block flock, Ranger distress ink and stickles, Q&Co and Mark Richards bling, Martha Stuart punch, Studio G stamp, sead beads

I did the inside as well. I pretty much kept it the same. I added a few butterflies with bead centers and a Simply Sassy digi sticker.

A close up of the flocking on her dress (I added it to the white parts of her dress) plus I added some gems to her dress. I used seed beads for the flower centers.

And a closeup of the carriage. I added stickles to the frame of it and a heart gem.

This one works for a couple of challenges as well...The Cuttlebug Spot (inside counts) and Cupcake Crafts (butterflies and blossoms).
I love the simplicity of the digi stickers. They can be used as is or add you can add a few elements to them like I did. They make for a super quick card when you don't have to do alot of coloring yourself. Simply Sassy is a new store so there is new items being added all the time so check often. And we will be celebrating our Grand Opening at the end of the month so be sure to check back for all the details there will be games, challenges and of course prizes. I will be posting more about this soon or you can check the Simply Sassy blog.

Also, you still have time to play along at Scrap and Stamp Saturday! The patriotic challenge ends on July 17th! So head over to get the details or visit this post. There will be a new challenge up on Saturday!

kits 2 remember and others

For this weeks kits 2 remember project I used a piece 6x12 acrylic to make a sign. I used the Cricut (Zooballoo, George and Plantin Schoolbook) and Design Studio to get them all the size I wanted. I have them in a cut file if anyone wants them. I used a fiskars punch to get the extra hearts for the smoke.

supplies: kits 2 remember acrylic, DCWV and Bazzill cardstock, Fancy Pants, Bo Bunny, Bella Blvd, Basic Grey pattern paper (and an unknown for the roof), Cricut, Making Memories glaze, Pebbles Inc paint, The Robins Nest skittles, sharpie, distress ink

After inking everything and attaching them to the front. I flipped it over and worked on the back. I painted it with Making Memories Glaze (Sky) making sure to not paint the windows. After it was dry I used a fine tip sharpie to draw in the curtains and polka dots on them. And then painted in the curtains with Peebles Inc paint. I love the depth it adds and they look like they are on the inside. I added a skittle for the doorknob.

Be sure to check out the krew blog for more ideas on using acrylic and metal. I am using this for the challenge at A Spoonful of Sugar as well, to use hearts.
I have to say I love the sketch for this card and I see me using it again and again it is from The Fresh Batch. I also used the challenge from The Pink Elephant to use stars and strips ( I used strips of twine) and the one from Nutshells to make a boy card with blue and green.
supplies: My Minds Eye and Rouge de Garance pattern papers, stazon ink, K&Co stamp, twine, popdots, sharpie
I love this digi stamp by Charmed Cards and Crafts she is the try before you buy one. I have others but I love her. I used a sketch by 3 Clovers.
supplies: Bazzill cardstock, Junkitz pattern papers, Charmed Cards and Crafts digi image, Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream stamp, Prima flowers, Making Memories Peebles Inc chalk, Around the Block colored pencils, hybrid ink, skittles, stazon ink
The above card is my entry into the Charmed Cards and Crafts drawing for this package of Copics!! Aren't they awesome. I am so wanting some Copics but they are not in the budget for me right now. So I really would like to win these. Head over to Charmed Cards and Crafts to see what you have to do to get in the action. Or not because I really want to win...lol
I have really been using up the scraps lately. All of these projects came completely from my scrap box! I love when that happens.

How would you like to win $1000?

Then you need to head over to The Cuddlebug Spot and get in on the action. They are trying to reach 1000 followers by the end of July. All you have to do is head over there become a follower and post about it on you blog. Thats it. So go...Now!! Okay in a minute..lol. I have a card to share.

I got to play a bit when we got home from the lake and this is what I came up with. It covers several challenges.
Rosie Dee's-sketch and birthday
Cupcake Crafts-black and white
Use it -texture, 2 punches, fav paper company and bonus of pearls (okay I admit I have no pearls, how is that possible?? so I used some micro beads instead)
Creative Belli-texture

supplies: Doodlebug papers, Bazzill cardstock, Q&Co button and flowers, Martha Stuart and Fiskars punches, Studio G stamp, beads, ribbon, sharpie, twine

I added the beads to the centers of the butterflies, popped the sentiment up from the flowers, and colored a piece of twine with a sharpie for the center of the flower. I think I covered texture with the ribbon, fabric flowers, textured cardstock, beads and buttons.
