Happy 5th Birthday!!!

My baby turns 5 today!! Five! I can't believe it! He is growing so fast and is so grown acting..lol. This is him first thing this morning as we were leaving for school. He is so NOT a morning person. Just like his mama..lol. Even though I was up at 5 am and he followed shortly after. But at least we got to spend some quite time together.
He had a little party at school this afternoon. I took cupcakes, goody bags, chips and juice for the class. He got to wear the "prince" crown for the day. And of course we had to get a photo of him and Miss Michelle! She is the best teacher ever...we just love her!
Happy Birthday Patrick! I hope you had a great one! Now...slow down and don't grow up so fast! I love you!!
We will be having a big party on Saturday! So check back for lots of photos..lol

On a scrappy note I did get a couple of projects done for the monthly theme challenges at Paper Popsicles.
We were to alter an item and then use the same design for a card. I used these yummy Pink Paislee papers and a little notebook/pen combo that I got at Biglots for $1. Scenic Route chipboard and SEI alphas and of course stickles.

We were also challenged to alter a paint can. Which I love to do so this wasn't a problem. I made this one for Patrick's teacher. We made cookies and gave it to her with a card! I love these fun Doodlebug papers.
I hope everyone had a great weekend! I was sick the entire weekend and I did nothing at all! So now I am off to catch up over at Scrapdango! I love it there and I have been MIA for about 3 weeks..so lots to catch up on.

I can't believe...

it has been 3 weeks since I have blogged! Well actually I haven't really been online during that time very much. It has been a crazy time for us. I have been out of town alot dealing with a family issue, I think everything is settled now and I can stay at home for awhile! And while I am at home we have been super busy. We have been on 2 fieldtrips with Patrick's school. His first one ever was to Faith Farms. It was alot of fun. They have alot of animals, lemurs, camels, kangaroos, goats, sheep...etc. Patrick even petted the baby lemur. They got to go on a hayride to the pumpkin patch and pick one out. Play on a jump castle and the playground. The second was to see a play "If You Give a Pig a Pancake"! It was a great and the kids had a blast! They did 7 kids books to music. It lasted about an hour and the kids loved it!
We went to the pumpkin patch again with our playgroup..I really like how this picture of Patrick and I turned out!

And about the only scrappy stuff I have gotten done has been for my DT at Kits2Remember. I did this little mini Disney acrylic book and the Mickey head for our niece who went on a trip to Disney this year. The mini book is 3x4 and the Mickey is made with 2 5inch and 1 8inch acrylic cirlces. All of the acrylic can be found in the k2r store. They were fast and easy to make. All I used was cardstock, stickles, various ribbon, Making Memories alphas and my Cricut (Mickey font). Check out the k2r krew blog for more photos!

This was an 8x8 album I made about our Summer from Krew Kit #8. I loved these papers! The colors are so rich and full of flourishes and butterflies. Whats better than that? I had so much left that I made this layout, 2 cards and I have enough scraps left for more! Check out the krew blog for more photos and to see what everyone else did with this kit! Be sure to check out the k2r store for this kit and some other great goodies as well!

It is so hard to believe that Halloween is already here! Where does the time go? Here are a couple of pictures from our outing last night. We then went again tonight with my SIL and niece.
Sadly to say I am glad this week is over. Between a field trip, setting up for the schools fall festival, going to and working at the fall festival and trick or treating twice I am too sick to do anything else. Maybe now I can get rid of what ever it is I have gotten...ugh.

Patrick doing a spidey move!! lol
I loved this photo op when Patrick started hiding behind a tree from a kid dressed as a vampire.
Now that I think life is getting back to normal I plan to catch up on my message boards and get back to blogging and scrapping again. Because I have been MIA from everything!
Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Metal Mania at K2R

This week is metal mania over at Kits2Remember. Everyday another DT will post their metal creations! Today was my day. I had such a blast working with this stuff! I have been wanting to for awhile and I finally got my chance.

Sorry about the bad photos we have had some major thunderstorms all day yesterday and today. But that is a good thing for us right now!

I made a wall hanging for my MIL. I am planning a photo shoot with the family so I can add the photos later. I plan to put a magnet strip on the back of the photos so they can easily be changed out.
A close up of one of the letters. I used Kits2Remember metal 8x8 panels.
My Minds Eye Garden Party papers, Bazzill cardstock, We R Memory Keepers eyelets, Tim Holtz grungeboard alphas and distress ink. Then copper glimmer mist on the alphas.

I then used the atc size metal panels to make wallet size photo holders for my best friend. She recently had old fashioned photos made of her boys and I thought this would be a great way to display them on the fridge.

Very simple and fast I will be making more of these. I think they will make great gifts. All she has to do is add her favorite photos.

I used Recess papers, Bazzill and Bo Bunny chipboard, stickles and distress ink.

Be sure to check out the K2R blog and see what everyone else has done with the metal. And don't forget about the RAK over there! I will be picking a winner Monday morning.

Wow! I am very excited that I have moved on to the Week 4 challenge at Scrap4Life. It has been a blast completing all of the challenges so far. So wish me luck on this week!
Here is my layout for Week 3. The challenge was to use paper piecing on our layout. And let me tell you this was a challenge for me. I am piecing challenged...lol. But I like how it turned out. I used the delish Basic Grey papers. I have an obsession with Basic Grey. I freehanded everything. Added ribbon for the stem and vines and crinkled up the leaves.

Also, check out the K2R blog for a chance to win a great RAK! Your not going to want to miss out on this!! So hurry on over there!!!

On another note. What is up with kids and the things they do. Patrick will be 5 in less than a month. He has never been one to put things in his mouth or his nose. But guess what he did yesterday! He put a popcorn kernel up his NOSE!!! What??? I mean seriously! Of course then he sucked it up his nose farther because he was crying and not blowing. Nick finally got him to blow his nose and it came out. I just don't understand it and he had no reasoning for other than "I just did" What???

1st project for K2R

I told Jessica I would get a project done for the upcoming Expo's in California. And this was the album she sent to me... Wow I love these Twiddleybitz albums. These are very detail cut chipboard designs, they also have acrylic! I had so much fun with this one. I laced it up so it will stand on its own. I used the yummy Cosmo Cricket Love Notes papers. While I was working on it my husband came in and told me it was gorgeous and that he wanted it on his dresser. lol...well I must have done something right because I never get that kind of response from him.
I do wish the photos had turned out better but what can I do at midnight...right?
For now these albums are only available at the Kits2Remember booth at the upcoming Expo's.

supplies used: Ranger distress ink, K&Co fibers, CC papers, Heidi Swapp ghost shapes, Prima flowers, Maya Road and Bazzill chipboard, stickles, gems, and rubons.

I finished my week 2 assignment over at Scrap4Life at the last minute finally. I just couldn't muster up any mojo this week. I am so glad I found it though because I like how my layout turned out.
The assignment was to do a seasonal/holiday layout without any seasonal or holiday related elements. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal for me but apparently I use more seasonal themed embellies than I thought.
I used Polar Bear Press-pp, bazzill-cs, American Craft-thickers, MME-transparency frame, heidi swapp-ghost hearts, alcohol inks, distress ink, floss, paper doilie, little pom pom ribbon and chipboard that I don't remember who made it. Almost everything on this page is from past kits at Scrapdango. The subject of this page is my adorable nieces and nephews who are 12, 13, 15 and 22 now!!

I am very excited to say that I moved on to Week 3. They picked 16 to move on. But I can only imagine how hard it was to choose because there is some serious talent over there!

Cards for Heroes

These are the cards I made to send to our heroes. I sent them to Jennifer McGuire and she will send them on to Cards for Heroes. They are very simple but I think they turned out great and I got to use that paintcan of Christmas card stuff that I just had to buy because it was on sale last year. I knew I would use it..lol. There were a few things that weren't in the kit rubons, some of the metal embellies, gems, a few stickers, stamps and a couple of additional pieces of patterned paper.

I added a few other cards I already had done but didn't think to take another picture.

I decided to try out for the design team over at Scrap4Life. It is a 4 week long contest. Each week we get our assignment and they are due in by Friday. They they pick some of us to move on to the next round.

Week one's assignment was to use circles for your background and stickers for your title. Here is the layout I did. I have been wanting to scrap this picture of Patrick and this turned out to be the perfect chance to do it.
We all moved on this week! Woo Hoo!!
I really loved how it turned out. I used Basic Grey Boxer line, BoBunny alpha stickers, Bazzill cardstock. I sanded the edges of the photo also.

Cards for Heroes!

I have always wanted to participate with the Cards for Heroes project but every year something happens and I don't get to. But this year I am determined to do so and I am so excited to get a chance to send Christmas cards to our troops. Jennifer Mcguire is hosting a card drive again. Check her blog for all the details. The cut off date says Sept. 30th but I have seen somewhere it has been extended to Oct. 15th. So if you have a chance please send a few cards to our troops that will not be home for the holidays. They are always taking other cards as well check the CardsforHeroes site for details.
I have been working on cards to send. Plus a few I have made in the past. I will have them mailed in a few days!

Feels like Fall....Finally!!!

Yesterday was the first day it has really felt like fall is in the air. It has been cool in the morning all week but it was cool all day yesterday and today. It isn't something we get alot of in the south so when we do it is so nice. That nice crisp clean smell and feel in the air. I love it! It makes me want to go camping and to the pumpkin patch. Have bonfires and hayrides and make smores over a fire. I just can't wait! I want to rake up leaves and then play in them with Patrick. I love the changing leaves eventhough we don't get alot of it in south Alabama. I love the look of a cotton field all in white, of wheat blowing in the breeze and the look of a huge field of sunflowers with their heads turned to the sun. I love seeing all of the halloween and fall decorations in the stores.
I was so excited about fall begining that Patrick and I went and bought a new scarecrow today and decorated the porch. I will add a photo tomorrow by the time we finished it was to dark to get a decent photo. We even built a fire and roasted marshmellows this evening.

Well Patrick seems fine today and had a great day at school. I am so glad that he wasn't getting an ear infection his are always so nasty. While I am posting I thought I would share a few cards that I finished at the crop over at Scrapdango. The first 2 were lifts and the 3rd and ad challenge. I had alot of fun with these. The "hi" and the robot stamp are from my friend Sheila's stamp company, Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream. The other stamps are from K&Co.
Have a great day everyone!

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Well it has been a busy week around here. I spent the day helping out at Patrick's school on Monday and ended up having ot bring him home because his ear was hurting so badly and was super red. Of course I couldn't get him in until today to see the doctor. He had a low grade fever on Monday enough to make him cranky. The doctor says he is fine that it was probably from sinus drainage...ugh. Anyway...
I thought I would share a few more layouts that I got done at the Inspiration Crop over at Scrapdango.
I used up alot of scraps and older supplies on this one. I had fun with this lift.
I loved this sketch when I saw it. I have been wanting to scrap this photo of Patrick milking a wooden cow. It was so funny to watch him. These were taken at the pumpkin patch last year. They have a small barn with a milk cow, it actually works, just with water. And it has fake hens and eggs also. All the other kids didn't know what to do. Patrick told them he would show them how...and he did. He knew exactly what to do and went to town teaching the others. LOL..I guess all of those farm and tractor videos payed off.

When I saw this sketch I knew I would use this photo of Patrick with his cousins. We don't get many shots of them all together.
Thanks for looking.

Always Remember

Lets always remember who died, our heroes and thier families.
Thank you and God Bless all of those who defend our country!

Scrapdango guest designer creations and Scrapstreet publish

Here are the cards I did with the Spice kit at Scrapdango for my Guest Designer spot! I love these papers they are so fun and versatile!

Here are a few atc's I did last month for a contest over at Paper Popsicles. These are a few I did for Patrick's lunches too. Check out those adorable stamps they are from my friend Sheila's store Thats Jazzy Stamp Dream! It is the Whats buggin you kit and the Rocket Ride set! They are both so much fun and she has lots of others too!!
School is finally going much better. Patrick finally got over his crying in the mornings a little over a week ago. Woo Hoo!! Because let me tell you that was pretty rough. I hated leaving him when he was like that. Now, if he will just be quite during rest time. Apparently, he can't be still and quite. Not that I am surprised...lol
I found out that the layout I thought was going to be in the September issue of Scrapstreet was actually in the August issue!!! I am so excited I can't believe that I didn't know this. After reading the Sept issue and not seeing it I contacted her again to see if I missed it and that is when I found out. I could have sworn that I read the August issue, but apparently not.

Guest Designer Projects for Scrapdango!!

I am so excited that my time has come for my Guest Designer spot at Scrapdango! I got to work with the yummy Spice kit. Look at all of this fabulous DreamStreet paper! I had so much fun with this kit. I used every single piece of this kit. I didn't even have enough scraps to equal a whole 12x12 sheet. There were just a few diecuts left. The only thing I added was the some cream cardstock and the paint and ink.

My altered item was a plastic bandaid container to hold atc size notes to put in my son's lunchbox.
There are also 3 cards. I will post them in a bit.

Come on over and check out Carrie's awesome kits at Scrapdango!!

Crop at Scrapdango

There has been an amazing crop going on over at Scrapdango. It started August 22 thru the 31st. There are sketches, ad challenges and scraplift challenges.

I am so excited about this crop because I was hoping to get my mojo back. I haven't had much in the past month. And I have gotten alot of it back I think.
Here are a few of the projects I have gotten done. There will be more in the next few days.

This is pics of Patrick with his cousin Evan at grandmas's.
I love this kit from Scrapdango. Kaiser Kraft is one of my new faves I think.

I love these pics of my mom and dad when they were first married. I don't have many of them together and I cherish these. My mom's sister and her husband are in these pics too.

My niece, Chasity. I used one of the August kits from Paper Popsicles on this layout and I love how it turned out.
Another August kit from Paper Pospicles. I think this is one of my favorite kits so far. Also, did this for the BAM challenge that Sheila has posted over at Paper Popsicles.

I love this pic of Patrick taken while we were on vacation last year.
I love this Doodlebug paper, it is the last of a kit from Scrapdango, from a few years ago.
